Marvel movies are abundant on Netflix but possibly not the movies you may expect. Here’s your June 2019 update of every Marvel movie currently on Netflix in the United States plus we’ll also cover any Marvel movies that are due to release soon and why they probably won’t ever come to Netflix.
The Marvel movies were acquired by Disney a number of years ago and are now technically published by them. We’ve got a separate article of all the Disney movies on Netflix here. The reason we mention this is that in the United States, Disney is planning to release its own streaming service which will likely include the removal of some of these Marvel movies on Netflix to head over there.
Between 2016 and 2018, all Disney theatrical movies have come to Netflix. That’s why there are some MCU titles on Netflix right now. This deal also bought Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange to the service in the past too but they’ve since left. The first Marvel movie that won’t be coming to Netflix is Captain Marvel which is the first Marvel release of 2019.
Another quick note, Netflix also has quite a few of the Marvel TV series too. We’ve gone into this in more detail elsewhere including the exclusive Defenders franchise timeline but also includes the likes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
It’s also been announced a lot of Marvel movies will return to Netflix from 2025 onwards.
